FWF - Help me decide which of two traffic tickets I should mitigate by going to traffic school. After 10 years of driving without a ticket, I got two tickets in California within 2 months of each other. The fine is same on both ($245 + $49 for traffic school). The first ticket was for following too closely and payment is due in December. The second ticket is for speeding and payment is due in January. Going to traffic school provides an additional 3-month extension for payment but traffic school is valid for only for one ticket in a 18-month period. Both violations equal a point (DMV rule) I don't want to contest either ticket. I am in a fix because California recently passed AB 2499 which will reveal multiple tickets within a 18-month period to insurers even if traffic school is attended. Please help me decide what strategy would have less impact on insurance raises (next insurance period begins end of Feb for me).
